Mitsuru Nagata
Mitsuru Nagata was born in Kyoto in 1979. He is a master of Japanese calligraphy (Shodō) and a Sumi-e artist. Trained at the Futaba Shodō Kai school and holding a degree in Sociology from Bukkyo University in Kyoto, he has gradually developed a unique artistic style that merges traditional calligraphy with a contemporary vision.
He currently lives in Europe, where he exhibits his work, leads workshops, and participates as a guest artist in festivals and cultural events, often in collaboration with institutions such as the Japanese Embassies in Spain and Portugal.
Some of his most notable collaborations include Montblanc, Muji, Mitsubishi Electric, Wagakki Band, and Ogilvy & Mather, as well as the design of the Keicho Award (CEJE) and the publication of the book Kanjiru with Satori Editiones.
