Daniela Calandra, Danica: architect and painter

Daniela Calandra, known as Danica, is an artist born in Sicily and graduated from the University of Architecture of Venice, currently based in Barcelona since 2006.

She began painting at the age of 26 and took painting more seriously at 39, after a career as an architect. In 2020, she took advantage of the crisis to reevaluate her career and finally launched her artistic project, Danica, in 2021. Its collection includes illustrations and paintings in oil, acrylic, watercolor and digital technique, characterized by figurative scenes with subtle details that invite diverse interpretations.

Danica draws inspiration from her everyday life, memories, nightly dreams, music, and creative writings to create a delicate and timeless imaginary universe, using bright yet subtle colors to convey positive emotions and serene atmospheres.
