Anne-Claire Lamy: Sustainable Design and Art with Purpose
July 22nd. 2024
Anne-Claire Lamy, with a Master's degree in Retail Design from the Elisava school, has worked for more than fifteen years in graphic and retail design in the food industry. His interest has focused on sustainability and food cheapness.
As an art designer at The Wonkies, Anne-Claire gives visibility to fruits and vegetables that don't meet industry aesthetic standards and are discarded. This project seeks to value the beauty of difference and natural diversity, reducing food waste.
The Wonkies offers products such as cloth dolls, ceramics, prints, rugs, and other decorative accessories, created from images of imperfect fruits and vegetables. Not only are these designs attractive, but they also carry a message about the importance of sustainability and appreciation of natural diversity.
Through The Wonkies, Anne-Claire Lamy promotes the reconsideration of our aesthetic standards and celebrates the diversity of nature, using design as a tool for positive and sustainable change.
