Aldo Favio Meneses Alcántara

Aldo Alcántara is an Art Director and Ceramic Artist born in Puebla, Mexico, based in Barcelona since 2013. His practice explores the relationship between volume, geometry, form, and color through pieces that move fluidly between functional object and sculptural art.

His work emerges from a cross-cultural dialogue bridging his Mexican roots and Mediterranean influences, drawing from nature, material culture, architecture, and childhood memories. This perspective is shaped by his background in Multimedia Design, Art Direction, and Design Illustration, which remain core to his creative approach.

In 2023, he established Atypical Handmade Ceramics, his experimental studio-workshop in Barcelona. His work has achieved notable recognition, including selection for the Bienal Contemporania 2025 and finalist status for AD Spain's AD Creators, alongside participation in various exhibitions and collaborative design projects. He is also the founder and driving force behind the Barcelona Ceramicists Community Totem, a collective initiative expanding to Mallorca, Madrid, Valencia, Mexico, and Latin America.
